Beloved Chicago jazz vocalist, Frieda Lee has dazzled audiences over 30 years with her graceful stage presence, her clear golden tones and classic jazz styling.  She not only performed with the legendary Joe Williams at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, but Williams chose her to replace him at a sold out Chicago engagement.

Frieda is best known for her extensive work the esteemed Chicago Jazz Orchestra where her voice is the centerpiece for many fully orchestrated jazz works. 


No stranger to large venues, Ms. Lee has performed with “The 3 Ellas: Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald” for an audience over 26,000 at Millennium Park in Chicago.  This concert has toured major venues including, Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Prairie Arts Center, The Hoogland Center for the Arts, City Winery, and most recently “Made in Chicago Jazz Festival” in Poznan, Poland.

Ms. Lee had also appeared at these esteemed venues: The Jazz Showcase, Andy’s Jazz Club, Fitzgerald’s, The Palmer House Empire Room, Taste of Chicago, African Jazz Fest, Room 43,City Winery, Millennium Park, and The Skokie Theater.

She also has a long history in jazz education.  The Philadelphian earned her degree in music education from Penn State University and has worked in the field as an educator throughout her performance career.
