Thaddeus Tukes is one of the most virtuosic vibraphonist in the country. A Chicago native and Northwestern University alumnus, Tukes has been featured at Carnegie Hall in New York, Symphony Center in Chicago, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival, and a host of other locations. Tukes has been featured in concert with Victor Goines, Dee Alexander, Roy Hargrove, Nicole Mitchell, and many others. Tukes is the first person in the country to receive a degree in Jazz Vibraphone. 


Since the release of his latest album, Thad's Groove, which features 20 of Chicago's jazz lions, Tukes has become one of the most in-demand musicians in Chicago. Amongst other distinctions, Tukes is a Luminarts Fellow, Terry Gibbs Scholarship recipient, and a Vivian G. Harsh Society Emerging Artists Award recipient. Tukes' first album, Vibes, pays tribute to many of the great vibraphonists throughout the history of jazz, including Lionel Hampton, Milt Jackson, Bobby Hutcherson, and Gary Burton.
