The trio performs a mixture of jazz and American standards, along with original compositions, drawing inspiration from classic jazz recordings of the past and present.
Pianist Chris White received his Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from the prestigious Indiana University’s Jacob’s School of Music, and his Doctorate in Jazz Performance from University of Illinois. In 2000, he was invited to perform in the Stean’s Institute for Young Artists at Ravinia hosted by jazz greats James Moody, Rufus Reid, and David Baker. As an in-demand musician, Chris has performed at local venues like the Green Mill, the Jazz Showcase, Andy’s Jazz Club, the House of Blues, Navy Pier, the Peninsula Hotel, and the Coq D’or at the Drake amongst others. His two CD’s “Young at Heart” and “Tributaries” are available through his website. In addition, Chris is an instructor of jazz piano and music theory at Lake Forest College, North Park University, and North Central College.
Guitarist Terry Bartolotta received his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from Northern Illinois University, and his Master’s degree in Jazz Composition from DePaul University. He has been featured at Andy’s Jazz Club, the Green Mill Lounge, Uncommon Ground, Reserve 22, and Jerry's. He leads the Terry Bartolotta Group which has released two cds of jazz standards and original compositions. The second cd, Slow Burn, was played on numerous national radio stations, and peaked at the number 114 position on the Jazz Week Radio Chart. In June of 2014, the group was featured at the Elkhart Indiana Jazz Festival. Their music has been reviewed in the Chicago Jazz Magazine and by the jazz blog "Bird is the Worm." In addition, Terry is an adjunct music professor at Harold Washington College in Chicago.
